How Does Furniture Get Dirty And It Doesn’t Seem To Show?

Dust is the number 1 enemy of upholstered furniture. Dust and dirt blows in through open doors and windows and settles itself on your furniture cushions and back. Then when you come home from a long day and sit on the cushions, the oils from your skin compress the dirt into the fabric where it’s almost impossible to remove with household vacuuming.

This repetitive action of the dirt pressing into the fiber CUTS the fibers like a knife – that’s why your material wears out. Combine this with pollens, dust mites, food crumbs and other accidental spills, and your furniture is easily filled with dirt and grime that somehow blends in without you seeing it! If you have pets and kids your furniture needs to be cleaned thoroughly at least once a year.

Bacteria & Germs

Bacteria and germs collect in spaces that are not cleaned regularly and thoroughly. Having your upholstery cleaned regularly and reapply protector helps to guard against the wear and tear of everyday living and provide a healthier living environment for you and your family.

Why Doesn’t Dirt Show?

Many of today’s fabrics are designed with beautiful patterns and colors, which easily hide any build-up of residue, dirt and grime. Also, because you see your furniture every day, the collection of dust or dirt is not as dramatic as a sudden wine or food spill would be.

How Often Should I have My Furniture Cleaned?

It depends on where your furniture is located. If you have a piece of furniture in a room with high activity, such as a family room in front of the television, then a cleaning should be scheduled as often as every 6-12 months. If your furniture is in a living room where activity is not common, then cleaning may not be needed for 1-3 yrs. A power vacuuming is recommended for furniture that is not regularly used because dirt and dust may still build up on it.

Why Professional Cleaning?

We have been cleaning these delicate and not so delicate materials for over 30 years. Our technicians are trained and have the experience to determine the best cleaning for your upholstery. Our certification, professionalism, and guarantee insure that your fabrics will be cared for properly. Choosing to use someone who is not a certified professional may worsen the stain or even completely ruin your upholstery.

Many Fabrics Are Delicate

If you try to spot clean your furniture, you can RUIN it by not getting it evenly wet. We have seen many instances of damage done to furniture by clients who’ve tried to spot clean themselves. Spot cleaning may also leave a water mark on your furniture, which is never guaranteed to be removed.

How Much Does It Cost?

Every piece of furniture is different and unique – some upholstery can only be cleaned with a dry solvent cleaning rather than with hot water extraction. We would be happy to come out and give you a free estimate on your furniture! All you need to do is call, 619-469-8955.

Is Protector Necessary?

Some fabrics have protector applied during the manufacturing process. The protector degrades over time with use and cleaning and must be reapplied from time to time. You benefit by having protector applied every time we clean your carpets, rugs, and furniture because protector makes it more difficult for spills, spots, and stains to PENETRATE to the interior of the fibers (where they can cause permanent color change). Protector keeps messes on the surface where they can be more easily cleaned.
